MY STORY

I have struggled my whole life with eating disorders and a bad relationship with food. I was always very active. Playing sports in high school and college. As an adult I ran marathons and taught yoga and spin classes but I was really confused about nutrition and what was really healthy. I was afraid to eat foods some consider bad because I might gain weight. I tried all sorts of different diets and none of them were sustainable. I had a tendency to hardly eat anything at all, or would workout more if I thought I ate too much.

In 2012 I found CrossFit. Around the same time I found out I have an autoimmune disease that affects my ability to lose weight and my overall health. I very quickly realized that if I wanted to feel good doing intense exercise and heavy lifting, that I needed to figure out nutrition. I dove into studying nutrition and I got several different nutrition certifications. Then I got to do some training with a couple of amazing people that have their PHD in nutrition. The thing that I learned that had the biggest impact on me is that food was not my enemy. As simple as it sounds I had to learn Food was FUEL! When I realized how much better I could feel not only when I workout but in my daily life, it changed my relationship with food and I wanted to tell everyone! My health started to improve because I was eating enough for my body to function properly.

After becoming a Certified CrossFit and Olympic Lifting coach I could see that a lot of my clients needed help with nutrition the way that I did. There is so much misinformation about nutrition that is very confusing for most people. I love demystifying nutrition and teaching people how to eat for the rest of their lives in a balanced and sustainable way.

Now I get to work with people all over the world and not just athletes. I work with people of all different fitness levels from ages 13 to 75. Some of them are elite athletes and some of them just walk for exercise.

I have found that helping people change their lives and improve their health through nutrition is more rewarding than I ever imagined it could be.

I’ve had quite a unique journey that has led me from the medical field to the corporate world, and back to the world of health & wellness.

I’ve always been an avid sports and gym enthusiast from the get-go, with some of my favorites continuing into adulthood such as volleyball and softball. In 2016, I discovered CrossFit, which deepened my understanding of the connection between nutrition, exercise, and overall well-being. With a personal journey through nutrition coaching, I found my calling as a guide for others.

What I've found within my sports community, and own family, is that many individuals simply need guidance and accountability. With an overwhelming sea of information available, embarking on a journey towards better health can be daunting. This realization has fueled my purpose: to bridge the gap between knowledge and action. Drawing from my own transformative experience with nutrition coaching, I now empower others to reclaim control over their well-being. Through personalized nutrition strategies, I'm here to offer not just expertise, but also a supportive partnership.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is witnessing my clients succeed in reaching their health goals. Whether it's shedding excess weight, excelling in competitive endeavors, or gaining a deeper understanding of their own bodies, the joy that accompanies their achievements is immeasurable. Every step taken towards improved health is a triumph, and being part of that journey, offering support, guidance, and celebration, is what truly makes my heart soar.

I have always been active with my first job working in a gym. Through college I played softball and lifted weights. Once I finished college I found running and ran many marathons. Throughout this time I basically exercised as a way to eat using food as a reward for any type of training.
In 2010 I started triathlons (specifically Ironman) as a way to get through my husband’s deployment, but instead fell in love with it. I also found out I was pretty good at it qualifying for World Championships in 2014. My triathlon journey led me to seek advise on improving my nutrition. I found the importance of having the accountability of a coach really helped my succeed which gave me the energy I needed to get through demanding ironman training and actually enjoy it more.
Seeing the positive impact focusing on nutrition had on me made me eager to seek my coaching certification so that I would be able to help others achieve their goals of being healthier and performing at their best. I truly enjoy helping others on their own personal health journey where ever that leads them.
